3 Ways to Celebrate International Women’s Day 2019

International Women’s Day (officially March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

International Women’s Day first emerged from the activities of labor movements at the turn of the twentieth century in North America and across Europe. National Women’s Day was first observed on February 28th, 1909.

Today, International Women’s Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political divisions.

Canadian women’s growing engagement in entrepreneurship in recent years has been nothing short of dramatic, and recent statistics show that Alberta has the fastest growing rates of female entrepreneurs in Canada. Celebrate this trend by supporting female owned and operated businesses in your area.
